Artist Reception

APRIL:  April is National Autism Awareness Month. To celebrate and bring awareness to individuals with Autism, Life Skills students from Hampton Bays High School have been creating pieces that will be displayed in the Helen Gould room for the entire month of April. Art has been shown to benefit individuals with Autism and other disabilities in so many ways.  It promotes self-esteem, builds fine-motor and problem-solving skills, and enhances communication. Most importantly, art brings joy to the artist and provides an important outlet for self-expression.
